In a remarkable display of talent and determination, the 28-year-old Parul Chaudhary emerged victorious, clinching India's first gold medal at the prestigious Hangzhou Olympic Sports Centre. Her clocking of 15:14.75 was nothing short of sensational, earning her the top spot on the podium.

Chaudhary's race was a rollercoaster of emotions as she spent most of the competition trailing in overcast conditions.
